When A Place in the Sun’s presenter, Laura Hamilton, embarked on her home renovation journey in 2022, she approached The Shutter Studio to add the finishing touch to her windows. And of course, we said yes! Laura documented her journey with The Shutter Studio as part of her ‘The Rebuild’ series on YouTube.
Visiting Laura’s home
Following Laura’s consultation with The Shutter Studio at our Polhill Garden Centre showroom, the team visited Laura’s home on a number of occasions to discuss her requirements. With 10 windows needing dressing including a large bay window, it was a big decision for Laura to get the right colour, louvre size and hardware. Our project lead Dan Allsop was on hand for each visit, offering his expertise.

It’s all-white for Laura!
For her renovation project, Laura opted for full height shutters made from Monterey pine with 76mm louvres. For the colour, Laura chose super white for her entire home due to its timeless appeal which would complement the neutral décor in her property.
Installation day
Following 14 weeks of manufacturing, Laura’s shutters were installed by Dan and shutter technician Mark. The fitting took a day to complete all ten windows, adding the finishing touch to Laura’s home renovation project. The transformation, we are pleased to say, made Laura very happy.
