Our experience in the Homebuilding and Renovating show
The Shutter Studio team were proud to be part of our first-ever Home Show this 2023, with the popular Homebuilding and Renovating Show, based in Surrey! With months of planning our team, stand and sales expertise, we had a successful weekend at the beautiful Sandown Park racecourse.
If you are looking for home shows in the UK, we highly recommend this as one of many great locations! Where is Sandown racecourse you may ask? The popular tracks are in Esher and so if you are looking for things to do in Esher whenever you are near the area, then you won’t regret a trip to Sandown!
The Shutter Studio team often installs shutters and blinds in a variety of areas in Surrey, with our Croydon showroom not too far away, so keep an eye out for some of our work in the beautiful properties in the surrounding areas.
Our Goals:
Our team made up of Omar, John, Abi, and Katie took on the job of getting our brand out to customers and helping to promote our new collection of exclusive UK-made Wooden Shutters. We had an amazing experience meeting a range of new people, with over 4000 guests visiting the home show over the two days!
Several team members assisted in designing and creating our stand. They made sure to include as much as possible in the limited space we had. We had a sample wall designed with our UK range to ensure our customers got to experience the shutters themselves in person and discover the quality and styles we offer! This was really useful for customers looking for home renovations as they could see the products in person and visualise how they would fit into their own interior.
The Show Schedule:
Friday: Set up Day
This was a very important day as we wanted to make sure our stand looked perfect for visitors coming to see our team and first-ever show stand! The team arrived at Sandown Park around 11 am to see a rush of other companies beginning to set up their own stands. The marketing team took the opportunity to capture lots of content about the setup and how it all came together, which you can catch on our Instagram page!
Saturday and Sunday:
Show time!
It was time to get started with our first home show! At 10 am, when the doors opened, a flood of customers entered and the team got to work! We provided customers walking by with brochures and bags and assisted them in signing up for a callback if they had any inquiries.
We were excited to help customers, who may not have even been interested or knew about Shutters or Blinds, realise that they could be a necessary product for their renovation project. We also had many questions such as “How to clean window shutters” as a lot of customers had heard misconceptions that they were hard to maintain. This was a great way for customers getting to interact with companies face-to-face instead of just by phone or email, which isn’t always the best way of communicating and getting the answers they need.
As well as promoting our product, the show was a great way of helping customers get those much-needed answers to questions they wanted to ask. We also learnt a lot about what customers wanted to know about our products and how we could help provide them with a service that helped bring their ideas to life!
Our UK Wooden range proved a success with many customers, as a lot of homeowners love the idea of a product for their home being made right on their doorstep, with a shorter lead time than any other shutter companies could provide.

The Show was such a success that we will be attending the London Excel Home Show this coming September! We can’t wait to meet many more customers who are looking to start some new home projects!
