On the 14th of September 2023, the team from The Shutter Studio, a small business specialising in the supply and installation of made-to-measure shutters and blinds, gathered at Brands Hatch for the prestigious Made in Kent Radio Business Awards. Among the attendees from The Shutter Studio were Sales Director Matt Cameron and employees, James Coleman, Omar Arzomand, John Lynch, and Dan Allsop. The event, attended by numerous small businesses throughout Kent, was a delightful occasion with entertainment by 2014 X-Factor finalist Stevi Richie, who had everyone, including our own Matt Cameron, dancing to the tunes of YMCA.

Each category represented a unique facet of business excellence, from ensuring efficient and quick customer service to making a significant mark within the industry and Kent, and operating sustainably and conscientiously towards the environment.
Despite the stiff competition, The Shutter Studio proudly walked away with the Silver Award for Sustainability. This award is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and operating in a greener and more sustainable manner. The initiatives that led to this win include the digitisation of services, the introduction of electric vehicles for the road team, and a robust in-house recycling system. Additionally, the company plants a tree for every order placed, uses FSC-certified and sustainably sourced timbers for shutters, and has recently introduced solar-powered motorised blinds to its range of services.
