Our First Radio Interview with Made In Kent

The Shutter Studio team had the exciting opportunity to visit a kent radio station, Made In Kent, which supports local small businesses and provides them with support in reaching new audiences. The company started as a shutter company in London but we have now expanded further into Kent. We now have our second base in Sevenoaks Kent, with our newest showroom in Polhill Garden Centre. Our surveyors and Polhill managers, Dan and Sam took on the challenge of promoting our business and chatting about our services.

Made In Kent launched very recently and uses its online radio platform to support as many local businesses as possible. They provide an online space for customers to revisit all the companies that appear on the show and look at all the businesses within the Kent area that could potentially be useful to them.

The Interview:

Dan and Sam took the hot seats and had the chance to talk about the various sides of the business and what we can offer to our customers. The friendly host, Matt James, welcomed the team as well as our marketing manager Abi to the studio and gave them the opportunity to introduce what we do to the kent listeners.

The interview started with Dan discussing the family side of the business, how we started as a company and the carpentry background of the team. Matt is very inspired by the idea of shutters in his own home as they are becoming much more popular in every home and property style and loved how our products and work were all completely bespoke.

Our Surveyor Sam then talked about our showroom in Polhill Garden centre, based in Sevenoaks Kent and how the very first customers from the opening of the showroom are now receiving their shutters and having their windows transformed by the team. The showroom has opened many doors to new customers and areas of work and we are excited to see the future of the local kent space. Further on in the interview, the presenter asked how customers could start their journey with us and our team explained the consultation process that takes place either within their own homes or at our showrooms, where they could see various shutter samples before they buy.

As Sam and Dan explain next, Shutters have many benefits including how they control light and privacy much easier than other window dressings, as well as how they help regulate the temperature of your home throughout summer and winter. Another benefit would be their kerb appeal and how they attract nearby neighbours into visualising their home with the same look.
