Our Latest Installation of Plantation Shutters in Streatham
We have recently finished installing plantation shutters in Streatham, South London. Streatham itself is well-known for its beautiful properties, including its vast amount of desirable Victorian and Edwardian properties. These attractive homes are part of this South London borough of Lambeth, including the property our team got to fit in.
The installation was carried out over three days and the overall design of the shutters is very classic, although the use of 76mm louvres in the shutters enables plenty of natural light to filter into the room without the finished shutters looking out of character. This choice of louvre is our most popular and for good reason.
At The Shutter Studio, we aim to provide features for every customer to benefit from, which is why we created 3 louvre sizes for you to add to your panels. The smallest, 64mm louvre, gives you the most privacy, whereas our biggest, 89mm louvre, aims to provide more light. Therefore, the 76mm as mentioned earlier, is built to give you the perfect balance of both and is an option we recommend first to every customer.
All our shutters are made to measure to exact standards, we work with our clients to ensure their finished shutters fall nothing short of perfection. This installation in Streatham incorporated a tier on tier style to allow for complete control over privacy and light entering the room. Continue reading to find out why tier-on-tier is a perfect option for a sash window shutter finish.
At The Shutter Studio, we supply and install shutters to all towns in and around South London including Bromley, Croydon, Purley, Beckenham, Dulwich, Sutton, Banstead, Clapham, and Streatham.
Alternative Shutter styles for your Streatham Home
Due to the variety of homes and window styles within the borough of Streatham, we think it’s important to note the range of shutter finishes you could have for your windows.
For the older, victorian style homes, which are an easy find in this location, we recommend a Solid Panel Shutter as one of your first choices. This classic finish is a popular design for older homes, complementing a vintage home perfectly. Solid panel shutters add complete privacy when the panels are closed, with the design of these shutters being built without louvres.
For a typical sash window, we have a variety of styles that are simply made for them. Just as this customer chose, Tier On Tier is one of the best sash window shutters due to being two separate panels, one above the other. Tier On Tier is our most versatile shutter style, and can even be designed as bi-folding panels as well as the standard opening option.
Cafe-Style is another popular choice for homes like these, with its reputation typically known as the “sash window shutter”. This half-height style lends itself to the design of sash windows, with our experts measuring and designing this style to the natural horizontal break in the windows. All of these styles can be finished with your preferences of colour, material and various other features.
