Your bathroom should never be forgotten in your home renovation journey, we have the perfect solution to add a touch of style and functionality. Bathroom shutters, also known as poly or faux wood shutters offer privacy, and light control, all whilst being completely moisture resistant. Whether you’re updating a traditional bathroom or designing a modern space, interior bathroom shutters can elevate your bathroom’s aesthetics while serving your everyday needs.
Window shutters for bathrooms
Window shutters for bathrooms can come in many shapes, sizes and styles and provide a versatile solution for any interior style. Whether you’re soaking away after a long day or getting ready for the day, bathroom shutters are easily adjustable and designed to allow you to enjoy your privacy without worrying about nearby homes seeing in. Poly uPVC shutters are designed to withstand humidity with a protective coating and faux wood finish, making them a durable choice for bathroom windows. Built with an aluminium core, they are one of the strongest materials in our range and are targeted, not just to these room types but busier family homes, where knocks and damages to interior shutters are more likely to happen.
Waterproof bathroom shutters
Waterproof bathroom shutters are an essential addition to any bathroom space. Made from moisture-resistant materials like faux wood or vinyl, these shutters are built to last even in the most moisture-prone environments. Their protective coating and poly vinyl finish ensures the will not warp, crack, or fade over time, guaranteeing long-lasting beauty to your space. We suggest shutters for these areas as not only are they aesthetically identical to our wooden plantation shutter range, but they are great for saving space in smaller bathroom areas, do not hold odours and they are easy-to-clean with a simple damp cloth, making maintenance a breeze.
Plantation shutters for bathrooms
Some of our classic plantation shutter styles are perfect for bathrooms. We recommend cafe style (half height shutters) if you only need privacy to cover a portion of your window. This could work perfectly for customers who may already have frosted glass on their windows, to ensure you still achieve a good amount of natural light coming through the top but still want extra privacy at the bottom to feel completely comfortable in your home.
We offer a variety of louvre sizes with our waterproof bathroom shutters to help achieve different light and airflow control, enabling complete flexibility of your shutters.

FAQs for bathroom shutters
Do bathroom shutters provide privacy?
Yes, bathroom shutters are designed to offer complete privacy while allowing you to control the amount of natural light entering the space. Some customers already have frosted glass on bathroom windows in which the shutters would help double the privacy on these. This is not the case for every homeowner, but shutters on their own provide excellent privacy with adjustable louvres that can be tilted to shield your bathroom from an outside view without sacrificing daylight.
What shutters are best for bathrooms?
Waterproof faux wood shutters are the best choice for bathrooms. We have two products; Poly uPVC and Poly SH. The only difference between these bathroom window shutters is that Poly SH has not only a waterproof coating but also a scratch proof finish. These plantation shutters are perfect for busy family households, they are both excellent in durability and are resistant to moisture, specifically engineered to withstand water splashes and steam found in bathroom spaces.
Are bathroom shutters energy efficient?
Although not as good as timber plantation shutters, waterproof Poly bathroom shutters still add an extra layer of insulation, helping to maintain the temperature in your bathroom and any other room within the house you may choose to install faux wood shutters within. In colder months, bathroom shutters help trap heat, and in warmer months, they can prevent the room from getting too hot by providing a barrier and blocking out direct sunlight.
Will bathroom shutters help with moisture control?
Bathroom shutters are designed to withstand humid environments, so won’t be affected by moisture themselves. Unlike certain blinds and curtains, moisture resistant shutters have adjustable louvres which allow for better airflow. If you have a window open during whilst showering, shutters at your windows can help reduce moisture and mould buildup in your bathroom by allowing for increased airflow, whilst keeping your bathroom private at the same time.
How do I clean bathroom shutters?
Unlike wooden shutters, cleaning bathroom shutters is simple. As they are moisture-resistant you can use a damp cloth to wipe the louvres and frames without worrying about warping or damage. To maintain your shutters and prevent dirt build up, wipe them over once a week (or more often if necessary) making sure to clean the louvres, sills and frames of the shutters. Always remember to clean the space between your bathroom shutters and the window where dust can easily collect from having the window open.
